Evan grew up in Grand Rapids, and Mel spent her college years here. We have a deep love for the people, we understand the culture, and are fanatic about the opportunity for this community to tap into the full potential of building up and releasing fully bought-in disciples of Jesus in order to reach people who feel far from God and are disconnected from the Church.

We're a six-person team, with four girls under the age of ten. As a family we're incredibly close, we have a lot of fun, and are bought in to the idea of creating a place together where other people can belong. We believe that this call to plant a church in Walker, MI is a call on our whole family. Our girls can't wait to get in on the act.

Last year was a big one for us as we hit a decade in marriage and in ministry. Evan has primarily served in two multi-site church settings over the last ten years, first at Heartland Church in Fishers, IN and most recently at All Shores Wesleyan Church in Spring Lake, Ml.

Our family is convinced that the best is yet to come. This call to plant a church has been a dream for both of us that we finally feel like God is giving us a green light for. We cannot wait to see what God has in store.
